Well, surely there can’t be many campervans that have done 900,000 miles anywhere in the world? We are sure that you will agree, it would be interesting if it could be found out if this just happens to be a world record breaking campervan or not as far as the number of miles a campervan has done in its lifetime.
This particular campervan that goes by the name of Cecil has been around for about 52 years so those that have had the pleasure of owning it certainly sound like they have had their money’s worth out of the leisure vehicle.
The current owner of this campervan shipped it over from Australia back in 1998. He only paid £180 for the vehicle so it certainly sounds as though he has had his money’s worth out of it. Let us hope that he has many good years’ service out of the vehicle for many years to come. Who knows, it may end up still being in service when it is 100 years of age. If this was to be the case, we wander how many miles will be on the clock in 48 years time.
The current owner uses the campervan on a daily basis so this is possibly one reason why it has clocked up the miles. At some point, the vehicle was adapted to take diesel fuel. The owner is also a mechanic that is a benefit as he no doubt looks after the mechanics of the campervan to make sure that it is in good working order. Apparently, it has never had to be towed away due to breaking down which is commendable.
It is used to pick up plastic waste off beaches so it sounds like it is being put to very good use here in the UK.
