Those of you who enjoy either a weekend or a week’s holiday touring around in your campervan may find it of interest to read about Chris and Marianne Fisher’s trip. This couple from Shropshire, back in January 2020, got into their 20 year old campervan and drove around the world returning home 4 and ½ years later.
The vehicle in question is a Fiat Ducato that was named Trudy.
The couple have certainly built up a following on social media with 180,000 subscribers and 27 million views on You Tube.
The couple visited so many places including the Kruger National Park in South Africa where they no doubt came upon elephants and wild cats such as lions and leopards. Let us hope that they stayed inside the campervan when they were in close proximity to any ferocious wild animals. They visited India that was no doubt very noisy on roads in built up areas. They even made it to the Arctic Ocean.
Apparently, the couple will be attending the Motorhome & Caravan Show on the 19th and 20th October 2024 at the NEC, Birmingham to talk about their eventful round the world trip so, if you are attending the show, you might like to go along and listen to them.
At the present time, Trudy is on a ship travelling from South Africa to Southampton so let us hope that when she arrives back on dry land in the UK she receives a warm welcome and has a safe journey back up to Shropshire.
It will be interesting if this adventurous couple decide to plan any further trips in Trudy although it sounds like it would be difficult to surpass the round the world trip they have recently completed.
