Some of you may be surprised to read that Spring this year officially starts on the 20th March 2024. This is often the time when campervan owners decide to venture out in their leisure vehicles for their first break of the year. So, if this is you, then you really ought to be thinking of bringing your campervan out of winter storage and carrying out a few checks.
Some of you may have declared your campervan SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) in order to save a little money. If you are one of those people then you will need to undo this. After all, you don’t want to get fined.
Make sure that you have filled up the fuel tank before you set off on a long trip as the last thing you want to happen is that you run out of fuel an hour into your weekend break.
Check the tread on your tyres and replace any that are approaching their legal limit. You should also make sure that the tyre pressure is correct.
Is the oil level correct and is there enough antifreeze in the campervan.
Is the lighting working both on the outside and inside the campervan.
Are the batteries all connected and fully charged as you don’t want to run out of electricity especially if you are parked up for the night in a desolate spot.
Take the opportunity to get rid of all those cobwebs with a good spring clean on the inside and give it a good wash and polish on the outside.
Do you have enough gasoline and fresh water.
As you can see, there is so much to consider.
Finally, make sure that you have adequate campervan insurance in place. In that respect, why not give us a call to obtain a competitive quotation as we provide access to an extensive panel of insurers.
